Character History:
Long ago, before time began.
There was...the cube.
More specifically, the All Spark, which was an ancient Cybertronian artifact, capable of creating new Cybertronian life. Predating any Cybertronian itself, it was the sole reason why the planet Cybertron existed. It breathed life into the rock, and thus it was a thriving planet, made up of all manner of people, and by that I mean it was covered head to toe in living, sentient robotic beings. By living, it’s not just being functional; this race has their own nervous system, circulatory system, you name it. They are almost biomechanical in makeup. And for awhile, their nation lived in peace. The planet survived and thrived, and those called the Primes ruled over with a calm, but caring hand.
But even in peace, corruption can happen, and this was embodied in no one more fitting than the one called Megatron. Once a friend of Optimus Prime, he turned against his friend, and strove for power over peace. Thus, a war broke out between two factions, called Autobots and Decepticons. The war was savage, and the Autobots were outnumbered far too heavily. This caused them to send the Allspark to the stars, as it was the most powerful thing on their planet, and if it was away from them, it was away from Decepticon hands. And thus, the war would not be lost.
Since then, it had floated through space, and was sought after by the leader of the Decepticons, Megatron, who followed it all the way to the planet Earth, where it had touched down in Earth's earlier days. Megatron himself found his way to the planet, but the gravitational pull and magnetic force caused him to veer off course, and his landing was slightly a ways away from the Allspark itself. He crash landed into the arctic, where the intensity of the cold put him into a sort of stasis.
Humans in fact, discovered these two artifacts, and as per human status quo, hid them from the public as a government secret project. This went unnoticed until a certain Sam Witwicky (also known as Ladiesman217 on Ebay) found his first car. But this wasn't just any beat up old Camaro. It was a robot. And after a bizzare turn of events, it led all led to finding the All Spark. The location? Imprinted on Witwicky's glasses. After a race to get them, it led to Bumblebee being captured by a human service called Sector 7. Turns out, they're the ones who had the Allspark all along, as well as Megatron.
The worst part of it was, Decepticons knew it too, and thus, the race changed from the glasses to the Allspark, which was taken from the Sector 7 base and into Mission City. Megatron was revived after Decepticons attacked the base, unfreezing him from his stasis. And now that the Allspark was within his grasp, he more than happily decided to attack Mission City. There was some battle, of course, and it ended with Sam Witwicky (that kid from before) shoving the Allspark into Megatron's chest, which killed him.
After the Fallen...fell, Megatron's presence seemed to disappear from existence for awhile. Therefore, Optimus and his group took to taking care of human matters instead. Enlisting in his crew were a few new Autobots, one of them being Mirage. Mirage was more of a stealth operator, so he wasn't always on the front lines. He seemed to arrive with Que, and rescued Sam from Sonar while pursuing the kid. Apparently they were after Brains, a mini Autobot. Using his cloaking ability, he taunted Sonar, eventually defeating him. And thus the Autobot squad had +2 more bots.
Seeing as he was the prime choice for sneaking past guards, Mirage was often sent on missions that required only one bot to do it. One of his missions led to Central America, where he had to track down Sideswipe after losing communication with the silver bot. It led to some sneaking around, stealth action, and fighting a bunch of Decepticons, but Sideswipe's rescue was worth it. Turns out there was a space port under some Mayan ruins, who knew!
Later on, Mirage, Que, Sideswipe and Bumblebee began to work on human matters, driving to Iran to destroy an illegal nuclear facility. Meanwhile in Chernobyl, Optimus found an artifact that belonged to Cybertronians, one that humans had conveniently left out when they agreed to share information. It was from Earth's very own moon, and thus, needed to be investigated.
What did they find? A Cybertronian, locked in stasis. This was Sentinel Prime, Optimus Prime's predecessor, and once revived with the Matrix of Leadership, all seems well and good. He adapts quite quickly to accepting Earth as their new home, at least until Decepticons start uprising again. When trying to lead Sentinel to safety, it's later revealed that Sentinel himself was fixing to betray the Autobots, killing the weapons specialist Ironhide in the process. This was a huge blow to the Autobots, and in the chaos, the humans came to the conclusion that maybe if the Autobots left Earth, it would get the Decepticons to leave as well.
They were wrong, of course. And during the liftoff, Starscream and other Decepticons attacked
Because all those Decepticons did was take over Chicago. Great plan, huh. Well never fear! Because it turns out, the Autobots actually survived that previous attack, and drove into Chicago to help fight the Decepticon menace. This included Mirage, of course, who stayed close to Bumblebee and Sideswipe during this. Unfortunately, during their attack, he, his aforementioned partners and Que were all taken captive, and set up for execution. Que was shoved into the line, and thus, executed first.
-THIS IS WHERE I'M TAKING MIRAGE'S CANON POINT FROM-
Then it was Bumblebee's turn to be killed, but unfortunately for the Cons, it was not to be. As a ship crashed, it freed them from their bonds and turned the tides of battle. Optimus took on Sentinel Prime, and was about to lose until Megatron attacked and offered a truce. Optimus refused, killing Megatron and then ended Sentinel Prime's life as well. The war was over and robots and humans could live in peace! Mirage was there at the end, standing with the rest of his Autobot brethren. Also I guess Sam was there too.
Character Personality:
Cool and confident are two words that deeply describe Mirage. For the most part, the robot Ferrari is composed and well-assured in his own abilities. And why shouldn't he be? He's got looks, talent, and the best (or worst?) part of it all--he knows it. After all, one doesn't choose a Ferrari Italia 458 if you're not going to be confident enough to sport it with STYLE. He's definitely one of the flashier members of the Autobot team, and he's suave enough to remain completely cool about it. It'll show mostly in his body language, especially when speaking to you. When listening, he'll fold his arms, leaning on one foot to show just how lax he is when in a discussion, and if speaking, he'll use expressive hand gestures to emphasize his point. He romanticizes his speaking, as if telling you "Yes, you are speaking to a car more expensive than your house payment. He knows." To put things into perspective? A sturdy italian spirit in the body of a rather frail italian car.
As if being confident wasn't enough, he's very eloquent when it comes to speaking. The romanticized gestures aside, his accent does wonders for making things sound rather charming, no matter what the topic. Couple this with etiquette, and you've got one smooth talker. As such, he'll use formal terms, like signore (Italian for 'sir') and 'signora' (Italian for 'lady') when addressing people, along with other affectionate terms unless otherwise stated. He'll slip into Italian when he's not comfortable enough to say a word in English eloquently enough, hoping that the word sounds much classier in the language he first downloaded as opposed to him attempting to whing it. Manners are a huge thing to him, and he'd be lying if he said he didn't like showing them off to people~
Manners are fine and dandy, but they're nothing if the proper respect isn't put behind them. And that's another thing Mirage takes in great stride. He may have no insecurities about his own abilities, but he will take slight offense if an Autobot questions him. After all, the Bots are built with trust as their foundation. He'll often assume it in the tone when he's spoken to, and will, as such, match that tone. If he's given an order by someone who hasn't earned his respect, he'll be just as curt back. The basic rule with this bot is: In order to get respect, you must give it. And believe him, he expects it. Who's the one risking his life out there for you?
This isn’t to say that Mirage doesn’t have a temper. As stated above, if there is the slightest of doubt in his Autobot brethren that he can’t do his job effectively, he will get rather indignant, twitching his wings and muttering in disgust. If you poke him enough, he’ll act out. This only seems to be among Autobots, as they’re the ones who he really seeks the respect from. If a Con says it? It’ll be taken with a grain of salt, if that. Some Autobots do this mainly to mess with him, as he has yet to tell the difference in jokingly-questioning-abilities and actually questioning. The temper can be a bit of a boon, however. Coupled with it is extreme stubbornness, and because of that, he’s a tough bot to bring down. His armor might be thin, but his spirit is much harder to break.
Powers and Abilities:
The main ability that Mirage has is what all Transformers can do: transform. They can shift their bodies and reconfigure their metal plating to resemble (for the most part) the appearance of human vehicles. While their insides may differ slightly, the exterior usually has a carbon copy resemblence of whatever vehicle they scan. In Mirage's case? He has scanned a Ferrari Italia 458, a rather beautiful car with a less-than-beautiful price tag. The bot will use this to get around quicker, and little more for anything else. It's not exactly equipped with weaponry of any kind, as he has to transform to be able to use a weapon.
What Mirage excels in the most is stealth operations. One would think this is rather difficult, being a completely out-of-place Ferrari Italia 458--and a crimson one at that. But this never bothers the sports car. He has a special cloaking ability, where he can turn completely invisible for an indefinite period of time. One would think that this would be a blessing from the Allspark, as he can sneak through enemy territory almost undetected. It’s not all fun and games though, as he is still quite tangible. Should he get hit by any blaster fire of any kind, he is instantly exposed, and that doesn’t bode well. Being a sports car, he doesn’t have very protective shielding, and thus is why he isn’t often on the front lines, as much as he may want to be. Nevertheless, his operations are invaluable to the Autobot cause. His strengths are in sneaking behind the enemy and catching them from behind, and that’s something he holds with a lot of pride.
Coupled with the cloaking is his ability to create holograms. Using an electro-disrupter, he can make himself appear in another location, or multiple 'fake' versions of himself. He uses this to disguise which one is the real 'him'. A master of illusion, this one is. He will often use this technique to make a get away, or plan it ahead of a battle, because if used in the wrong place at the wrong time, he's just as exposed as before, and thus rendering the technique useless. It also has a downside, as if he is hit, the other holograms will dissipate, leaving the only 'real' one left.
Aside from his cloaking ability, he comes equipped literally to the ‘bone’ with weaponry. Attached to his two arms are giant scythe-like blades, bent backwards towards the elbow. At rest position, they sit relatively close to his arms, and he has to be slightly careful when waving them around, as they are very sharp and quite large, stretching past his elbow and almost to his shoulder area. The only time they’re even more dangerous is when used in battle, when they spring into a position slightly farther away from his arm. This is the ‘armed’ position, and Mirage will use them as he sees fit. The blades operate on a pivotal wheel, meaning they can slice both vertically and horizontally, depending on how Mirage uses them. This is his main weapon of choice, and he likes it because of it’s lethality and melee tendencies. It’s a bit contradictory to his ‘stealth’ motif, but nothing says master assasination like a slice in the back.
Mirage also comes equipped with two long cables with hooks on the end. These are mainly used to latch onto an enemy and pull them back, drag them, pin them down, what have you. He gets creative with them. They detach from his wrists and extend for quite a long distance. These are one of his favourite weapons too, because he’s found enjoyment in skiing behind his enemies to pull them over. What can he say? He likes to have fun on the job.
When well equipped, Mirage is a good shot with a dart rifle. It’s his weapon of choice when it comes to long range combat, although he would much prefer the use of his blades. Having no kind of gun on his person, he relies on specially designed weaponry made for Cybertronians, and the sniper rifle is his choice. While he likes to keep active, he will find temporary ‘nests’ to snipe in to cover Bumblebee and Sideswipe when on missions. Once again, not his favourite weapon of choice, but in a pinch, he’ll use it if necessary.

Network:
[The feed clicks on, showing a very striking red robot. That may or may not be normal to you. Depends on who you are. Either way, he seems lost in thought, as if trying to word this correctly. English was not his favourite language, preferring the romanticized Italian, but he'll give it his best shot.]
What does compagno mean to you?
Ah...'partner'. Sì. That's the term I was referring to.
[After getting that out in the open, Mirage feels he probably should explain it better.]
My mentor told me having one would be beneficial. Although I am not quite certain what he meant by that. I am used to working alone... I have had comrades, but the way he spoke was not of the same thing. He compared it to my friend Bumblebee and his human partner, however unlikely I will acquire one.
[Sorry fleshies, he's just not all that into you at the moment.]
If there is any information on what you think my old friend meant, I would greatly appreciate it.
[He sits back slightly, those wings twitching idly as he lets a small intake of air out. Someone wasn't used to asking for advice often, apparently. And here he was, throwing it out for the entire world to see. Hopefully something came of it.]
Third Person:
Foreign terrain was...ironically, familiar to Mirage. As someone who had lost his planet, everywhere was a strange new world, and the less he got attached to one, the better. It resulted in unintentional cynicism, and as a result, the bot slowly stopped caring so much about little things. This world would be no different. He would land, meet up with the Autobots, and do his duty. That was how it had always been, and always would be. As Mirage crawled out of the crater that was the effect of his landing, he did a quick scan of his surroundings.
And he was not prepared for what he saw.
In a word? Beautiful. It was unlike anything Mirage had ever seen on ANY rock he'd flown to. The grass was of a lush, healthy green color, with fields stretching as far as the eye could travel, and even farther for optics. The sky? A brilliant blue, matching that of his own eyes, with wisps of white spotted across it. The architecture in the distance towered above the rolling hills, and to Mirage, it could even rival some of Cybertron's grandest buildings. Okay, maybe that was an exaggeration, but stunning nonetheless. To be honest, the robot was rather stunned at it all.
"What is this place...?"
He didn't have long to contemplate things, however, as the land wasn't as lacking in population as he first assumed. There was a road that ran through this countryside, and with it, cars traveled along it, although it wasn't very busy. Still, it was enough to cause a slight problem for the bot, as he was now stuck in the crater until a lull in the traffic occurred. As he waited, he realized that a vehicle mode would need to be acquired, and began gazing at the cars that passed, looking and possible vehicle modes. Mirage was in no way an easy-to-please mech, and rejected (in his mind) most of the ones that drove past.
Did he really have to settle for mediocre?
Just then, right as he was about to give up, a car cruised along the road. It was much different than the others: bright red paint job, a sleek, streamlined design, and an engine that was so quiet that it could make silence itself jealous. The bot watched it for a few moments before copying it's data into his processor, keeping it for future use. Yes, Optimus had mentioned that they needed to adapt Earth vehicles in his transmission. Perhaps the stay wouldn't be nearly as bad if he was -that- particular set of wheels. When the sports car cruised over the hill and out of sight, Mirage climbed out of his crater, giving a look both left and right to make sure there were no other sightseers coming his way.
Once in the clear, he leapt into the air, his body starting to shift. Metal slid over metal, almost like a puzzle as each part fit snugly into it's niche. After a moment of what seemed like chaos, a red Ferrari Italia 458 stood where he had just been in the air. Now...to test it out. His engine revved as he took off towards the road before him, ready to see this world. If it was anything like where he landed...maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

There was some battle, of course, and it ended with Sam Witwicky (that kid from before) shoving the Allspark into Megatron's chest, which killed him.
After the events in Mission City, things were pretty good for awhile. Optimus Prime and a new military branch called N.E.S.T., led by William Lennox started hunting for Decepticon stragglers that had made their way to Earth, hidden as human tech. When hunting down a Decepticon in Shanghai, it stated that ‘The Fallen’ would rise again, right before being shot by Optimus. Earth took this warning as a threat, blaming the Autobots (with the exception of NEST being their only supporter) and saying that maybe Earth would be better off if Autobots left.
As for Sam and Mikaela, life returned to normal. At least until an Allspark shard fell out of Sam’s hoodie that he wore from the event, causing the boy to start seeing strange symbols in his mind. Thanks to a few Decepticon scouts (see: Wheelie and Alice) Megatron found out about this, and knew what the symbols meant. Meanwhile Sam goes to college and tries to fit in, only to be called away to duty. If duty was running away from Megatron. He’s soon captured by the Decepticon leader and taken in for operation. Scalpel was more than happy to assist, and scoped Sam’s brain.
It wasn't long before Autobots came to his rescue, of course, and thus tried to get out of there. This led to a battle in the forest, with Optimus as his only defender against three Decepticons. While he fought valiantly, he was killed in action, which was devastating to Sam, N.E.S.T., and Autobots alike. Sam was able to escape, eventually finding Bumblebee.

With Optimus’s death, all hope seemed to be lost. The Fallen had broken his bond that was keeping him trapped, and the plan to steal Earth's sun was set into motion. The device that would steal the sun required the Matrix of Leadership, however, and this left Sam as still a primary target, as the symbols were imprinted in his head. Following the directions of the symbols, the Matrix was found and was going to be used to revive the fallen Prime. However, the Fallen himself had other plans, stealing it the moment Optimus was revived and began to harvest the sun. With a Decepticon-turned-Autobot named Jetfire's help, Optimus was able to defeat the Fallen, and the machine in they pyramid was destroyed.
